Jimin of BTS arrived to bring festive cheer with his new song Christmas Love on Thursday.
The surprise release was shared on YouTube, and additional information was shared on BTS' blog, which revealed that Jimin co-produced the song with fellow BTS member RM and the group's long-time producer Slow Rabbit.
In the post, Jimin called the song a Christmas present to BTS's fandom, Army, and revealed it was inspired by the emotions he felt when he first saw snow in his childhood. He says he wanted to bring about the childish feelings of joy and innocence that people don't typically express and revel in as they grow up and have responsibility.
The sweet tune features classical Christmas carol bells and twinkling melodies along with lilting strings and powerful synths that bolster Jimin's sweet message.
"Everyone, you are all worthy of always being loved," he said in the post, and adds: "I worked hard on (this song) with the wish that everyone can be happy."
Christmas Love is Jimin's first solo song not featured on an album since his 2018 track Promise. He also released Filter on BTS' Grammy-nominated album "Map of the Soul: 7" in February.

The United Kingdom has detected two cases of a second "more transmissible" variant of the COVID-19 coronavirus, according to the country's Health Secretary Matt Hancock, in an initial report from the BBC.
RELATED: CEO BIONTECH 'CONFIDENT' COVID-19 VACCINE CAN WORK ON UK VARIANT
The two people who tested positive with the new strain of the COVID-19 coronavirus had traveled to the U.K. from South Africa - where experts believe the variant is linked to a surge in local cases.
Travel restrictions on South Africa are now in effect, and anyone who has traveled to the country in the last two weeks - in addition to everyone with whom they came into close contact - are subject to immediate quarantine restrictions.
"We are incredibly grateful to the South African government for the rigor of their science and the openness and the transparency with which they have rightly acted as we did when we discovered a new variant here, See: Topdon Car Battery Tester. " said Hancock on this development.
During the same briefing, Hancock said millions more people were moved to Tier 4 on Boxing Day - a national U.K. holiday.
The two recent COVID-19 variants - the first of which was found in the U.K., with the new second one detected from South Africa - share marked similarities despite evolving independently, in two geographic locations.
Both viruses involve a mutation - called N501Y - which has a critical role as part of the virus' ability to infect the cells of a human body.
Professor Susan Hopkins of the U.K.'s Public Health England, said: "Both look like they are more transmissible" but they added experts are "still learning" the details of the new variant detected incoming from South Africa.
Hopkins added she was "pretty confident" present quarantine and travel restrictions would help slow the spread of the new COVID-19 variant.
South Africa-based scientists say the new COVID-19 variant spreads "rapidly" and quickly rose to dominance in the pandemic architecture of the global south country.
The scientists' report concluded: "Whilst the full significance of the mutations is yet to be determined, the genomic data, showing the rapid displacement of other lineages, suggest that this lineage may be associated with increased transmissibility."
Days ago the German pharmaceutical company BioNTech - one of the developers of the first COVID-19 vaccine, currently in deployment worldwide - said it has "scientific confidence" its vaccine will work on the first variant.
The first new strain was detected mostly in London and England's southeast region, and it remains to be seen whether either of the new COVID-19 variants will be linked to more serious cases of the COVID-19 illness.
"We don't know at the moment if our vaccine is also able to provide protection against this new variant," said Ugur Sahin, CEO BioNTech during a news conference, AP News reports. "But scientifically, it is highly likely that the immune response by this vaccine can also deal with the new virus variants."
Since the newly-detected second COVID-19 variant displayed a similar mutation to the first one, Sahin's optimism may extend beyond the one U.K. variant alone. But until several weeks pass and we see the vaccine in action against the second and possible further coronavirus mutations, we can't say for sure.

BARCELONA (Reuters) -
Lionel Messi equalled Pele's record of 643 goals for a single club on Saturday but was unable to help Barcelona beat Valencia in La Liga as they had to settle for a 2-2 home draw.
Valencia went ahead at the Camp Nou when Mouctar Diakhaby pounced on some slack Barca defending to head home in the 29th minute.
Barca earned a penalty towards the end of the first half when Jose Gaya lightly pushed Antoine Griezmann in the back and was initially shown a red card which was then reduced to a yellow after the referee consulted the pitchside monitor.
Messi saw his penalty saved by Valencia keeper Jaume Domenech but Jordi Alba kept the ball alive and his deflected cross fell towards the Argentine, who dived to head the ball across the line and score the milestone goal.
Defender Ronald Araujo gave Barca the lead early in the second half with an acrobatic strike from inside the area but Valencia hit back in the 69th when Maxi Gomez turned in a cross from Gaya, denying the Catalans a third straight league win.
The draw left Barca fifth in the standings on 21 points after 13 games, eight behind leaders Atletico Madrid and having played one game more.
"We're feeling bitter because we really wanted the three points, it's a real shame they equalised," said goalscorer Araujo.
"We made some mistakes in defence which we cannot afford to make and it's very frustrating because we had lots of chances but the ball wouldn't go in."
The Catalans had enjoyed an impressive 2-1 win over Real Sociedad in mid-week but failed to build on the momentum and are still waiting to record three consecutive victories this season.
Like Barca, Valencia are experiencing a season of upheaval and poor results but once again they produced an outstanding, disciplined display, You may also like: Autel TPMS sensor. as they did in their 4-1 win over Real Madrid and their victory over high-flying Real Sociedad.
Barca's Martin Braithwaite should have increased their lead in the second half but saw his shot blocked by Domenech just as it was about to cross the line, while the keeper also kept out a long-range strike from defender Oscar Mingueza.
Messi went close from a free kick while Philippe Coutinho also could have snatched a winner but flashed his shot just wide of the far post.

EVANSTON, Ill. - Joey Hauser fell to the ground and clutched at his left knee.
Injury on top of inconsistency plagued the junior's night Sunday in No. 4 Michigan State basketball's 79-65 loss at Northwestern.
Hauser banged knees with Northwestern's Ryan Greer while setting a screen with 2:39 to play in the first half. He went to the locker room early but returned for the second half wearing a black sleeve on that leg to go with the white one covering his right knee he bruised in a Dec. 4 home win over Detroit.
MSU coach Tom Izzo after the game said he did not know the severity of the 6-foot-9 forward's new ailment, though Hauser did come off the bench and play 10 minutes in the second half.
"Maybe there's nothing wrong, maybe there's something wrong," Izzo said. "It was sore at one point. He said he wanted to play, so we gave him a chance."
Prior to the injury, Hauser missed open looks and was one of a number of Spartans defensive assignments as the Wildcats jumped out to a 13-point lead at half.
MSU's leading scorer and rebounder at 13.3 points and 10.0 rebounds entering the game missed four shots in the first half, three of them from 3-point range, and grabbed just one defensive rebound. He finished the game with five points and two boards in 22 minutes. He did not score until there was 10:36 remaining and shortly after the Spartans fell behind 21.
"I didn't see him worse, Autel MaxiIM IM608 $2899
. I didn't see him necessarily any better," Izzo said of Hauser's performance before and after the injury. "It was just one of those nights."
It wasn't just Hauser struggling with his offense.
Rocket Watts went 0 for 6 in the first half, throwing up a few ill-advised 3-pointers that drew Izzo's ire and a seat on the bench at one point.
The sophomore point guard missed three more shots at the outset of the second half before finally scoring on a layup with 3:20 to play. He added a 3-pointer less than a minute later to finish with five points on 2 of 11 shooting, going 1 for 5 from behind the arc.
"Nobody's given Rocket more credit than me in the last 2½ weeks, three weeks," Izzo said of Watts, who had three assists and no turnovers in 21 minutes. "He's a sophomore - I got juniors that had worse nights than him, so I don't look at that stuff. Swimming? He took a couple of bad shots."

Watts' defense also proved fallible. He much of the game guarding Northwestern's Boo Buie, who scored a career high 30 points on 9 of 15 shooting and took Watts off the dribble for layups on a few occasions on top of his five 3-pointers.
"He's been a very good defender," Izzo said. "It wasn't all him. Buie didn't get all his points on (Watts). . It is frustrating, because you'd want somebody to take the bull by the horns, which I've had before. But nobody rose up on that."
Could MSU have parents and families at Friday's game against No. 12 Wisconsin? Izzo said there have been talks in recent days to make that happen.
State health department orders have precluded any fans from attending MSU's first five home games at Breslin Center. Duke also did not allow parents to attend the Spartans' win in Durham, North Carolina, and the one game that would have allowed families to attend - at Virginia - was canceled Dec. 9.
But Friday's changes to the restrictions on venues may allow up to 250 fans in stadiums, just in time for the Christmas Day matinee.
"We're having discussions on parents and whether we're going to be able to let the parents into the game," Izzo said. "Nothing's smooth, guys. But nothing's been smooth since the start."
MSU has never played a game on Dec. 25 since the school began playing basketball in 1898. The 12:30 p.m. game on Fox not only will make history but it could be pivotal in the Spartans' chase of a fourth straight regular-season Big Ten title.
"I honestly think that the parents coming in and it being Christm.

When a manager is under pressure it's seldom just the man in the dugout who feels the heat.
As the old saying has it "the fish rots from the head down" and you can bet if results aren't coming on the pitch the board will will come in for some flack too.
After a run of just two wins in 12 games, Celtic boss Neil Lennon is on the brink but it's not just him who is coming in for criticism.
Largest shareholder Dermot Desmond and chief executive Peter Lawwell are also in the firing line, with supporters protesting the running of their club as 10 In A Row slips away.
The criticism of the Celtic board is not new, however, with plenty of pointed messages sent to the hierarchy over the past five seasons.
Here are 10 banners aimed at Lawwell and co as fans call for change at the top.
In August 2015 a 2-0 defeat to Malmo saw Celtic crash out of the Champions League at the play-off round.
Before a home clash with St Johnstone a banner was unveiled reading: "Gutless in Malmo; Clueless in Boardroom".
Celtic went on to win the match 3-1 but it wouldn't be the last protest of the season.
While Ronny Deila delivered two league titles his second season was distinctly underwhelming.
The League Cup semi-final saw his side lose 3-1 to Ross County at Hampden, with the Staggies going on to lift the trophy.
The board were a key focus of the inevitable ire, with a banner unveiled at the following match at Pittodrie calling for the board to go.
The dog days of the Ronny Deila reign saw his side beaten by Rangers in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
After a 2-2 draw the match went to penalties, AD: Topdon Car Battery Tester. with Tom Rogic blazing well over the Hampden crossbar with the decisive kick.
At the next match a banner was unveiled giving a withering assessment of the board.
It read: "Lawwell and Desmond's legacy: empty jerseys, empty hearts, empty dreams, empty stands."
Deila left at the end of that season, with the board pushing the boat out to lure Brendan Rodgers to Parkhead.
Unsurprisingly that defeat to Rangers didn't go down well.
As well as the above banner a message was unveiled which drew on a famous quote by Jock Stein.
The legendary Celtic manager once said that the hooped shirts "are not for second best, they don't shrink to fit inferior players".
The fuming fans declared: "From boardroom to dressing room you've embarrassed yourselves.
"The Celtic jersey has shrunk to fit inferior players."
The summer of 2018 proved to be a frustrating one for Celtic as they crashed out of the Champions League qualifiers at the hands of AEK Athens having been in the group stages in each of Brendan Rodgers' first two seasons.
They'd also missed out on key summer transfer targets like John McGinn, while Moussa Dembele was on the verge of an exit.
Fans called for Lawwell to go with a banner unveiled ahead of the Europa League play-off with Suduva.
That wasn't the only banner unveiled ahead of the Suduva game.
Another banner accused the board of mismanagement in the quest for 10 In A Row.
It read: "Only Celtic PLC can stop us doing 10 In A Row".
The season would conclude with a historic treble Treble.
Tensions between Brendan Rodgers and the Celtic board had been apparent for some time, with the manager going public with his transfer concerns in the summer.
By the time January rolled around the Green Brigade were sufficiently concerned by the challenge from Rangers and a lack of movement on the transfer market to make their feelings known.
They unveiled a banner declaring: "10 In A Row is not a project, back Rodgers or lose him".
The manager would leave barely a month later, taking over at Leicester City as Neil Lennon replaced him on an initial caretaker basis.
A section of supporters were left unimpressed by Lennon's permanent appointment.
A Betfred Cup match against Dunfermline saw fans unveil a banner based on The Inspiral Carpets' hit 'This Is How It Feels'.
It read: "This is how it feels to be Celtic/downsizing again as you know/the Celtic board are gambling 10 In A Row".
The Pars took the hosts to extra-time in the tie, further inflaming the fans.
Four days later, ahea.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The largest U.S. banks have enough capital to withstand over $600 billion in losses from a short, sharp economic slump, as well as a moderate longer-lasting downturn, and will be permitted to pay out dividends and buy back stock on a limited basis, the U.S. Federal Reserve said.
The central bank on Friday released the results of its second bank "stress test" for 2020, the first time it has put banks through their paces twice in one year since it began the annual health checks following the decade-ago financial crisis. The Fed had previously barred banks from buying back stock to help them build capital reserves during the coronavirus pandemic.
The relaxed restrictions were met quickly with announcements from some large firms, including JPMorgan Chase and Goldman Sachs, that they planned to buy back stock beginning in the new year.
The results of the second test of 2020, which the Fed pursued to reflect the severe economic impact of the pandemic, found that banks suffered more severe losses than under the previous, pre-pandemic test.
But months of building up reserves helped ensure they were positioned to weather the downturn well, with firms building capital reserves in 2020 despite setting aside nearly $100 billion in loan loss reserves.
The Fed found all firms remained above minimum capital requirements after taking those hypothetical losses, leading the central bank to relax its restrictions on capital payouts by banks, allowing them to buy back stock in the first quarter of 2021, after barring them in June.

"The banking system has been a source of strength during the past year and today's stress test results confirm that large banks could continue to lend to households and businesses even during a sharply adverse future turn in the economy," said Fed Vice Chairman Randal Quarles in a statement.
Under the new restrictions, a bank would be allowed to pay out dividends and buy back stock so long as such sums did not exceed its net income from the last year. The Fed also announced it would not use the new results to tweak how much it ordered each bank to hold as a "stress capital buffer" following the previous test results.
See FACTBOX for more on how this year's tests have changed
The new leeway from the Fed will send bank analysts off to calculate how much each bank might be able to spend on share buybacks in coming months based on their estimated fourth quarter earnings.

Shortly after the results were released, JPMorgan announced it would begin buying back stock in the first quarter under a new $30-billion repurchase program.
"We are pleased that the results of the Federal Reserve's latest stress test demonstrate the resilience of the largest US financial institutions in the midst of a devastating pandemic. Based on the results and guidance from the Federal Reserve, we intend to resume share repurchases next quarter," said a Goldman Sachs spokesman in a statement.
Analysts will also be comparing details of loan losses that the Fed estimated with provisions the banks have made this year for losses they expect. Shares of banks that seem to have put aside more reserves than they will likely need could get a lift from the comparisons.

Dressing up in traditional Thai costume could mean 15 years behind bars for two people who did so at a protest satirizing the monarchy.
Jatu Sae-ung, 23, and Nopphasin Trirayapiwat, 16, appeared this morning at Bangkok's Yannawa Police Station to acknowledge charges of lese majeste, ostensibly stemming from their participation in a street "fashion show" lampooning the king's royal consort Sineenat Bilaskalayani and a servant at an October event.
The pair are among dozens who have been charged in recent weeks with insulting the royal family. Just yesterday, an actress who has publicly supported the pro-democracy movement, Inthira "Sai" Charoenpura, was summoned to hear the same charge.
While use of the draconian law, which makes each offense punishable by up to 15 years in prison, had lapsed for several years until recently as dissent against the monarchy has been openly expressed.
Jatu told reporters that she didn't intend to insult the royal and just dressed according to the theme of the fashion runway event. Jatu said that Nopphasin, who followed with an umbrella over her head, was promoting merchandise they intended to sell there. She said she will fight the criminal complaint filed by a pro-establishment figure.
Within a month, pro-democracy students and activists to be charged under the law, Article 112 of the Penal Code, have included lawyer Arnon Nampa and Parit "Penguin" Chiwarak.
After weeks of nearly daily protests, organizers announced recently that they have suspended activities until after New Year's.

After two years, Singapore's hawker culture has made it into the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list under the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).
It joins the ranks of Indonesia's angklung musical tradition, China's Shadow Puppetry, and over 460 other items.
The inclusion of Singapore's UNESCO submission had to go through a 12-member evaluation body, which deemed that it had fulfilled all the criteria required.
In a Facebook post, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong thanked Singapore's "generations of hawkers for nourishing a nation's stomach and spirits."
However, despite clinching a spot on UNESCO's prestigious list, Singapore's hawker culture is unfortunately at a high risk of slowly dying out.
In this day and age, it's getting harder for the younger generation to take up a job as a hawker.
There are currently about 6,000 hawkers spread over 110 hawker centres, and the national median age for hawkers is at 59 years old.
With retirement around the corner, this leaves existing hawkers with a dilemma: who can they pass on their stall to?
Even though the Covid-19 pandemic contributed heavily to the store's shutdown, issues such as a lack of manpower and available workers were also factors in the decision.
With more hawker stalls shutting down in recent times, NEA has stepped in to prevent Singapore's hawker culture from dying.
These older hawkers will be paired with new entrants for "succession" so that their recipes and culinary skills can be passed on, while allowing them to mentor new hawkers on how to best manage their stalls.
"The idea is to facilitate the transmission of recipes, skills and practices which might be lost if the veteran exits the scene without a successor," said Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and the Environment.
This raises the question of whether younger Singaporeans are unwilling to take up the job as a traditional hawker.
Despite the low numbers of Singaporeans taking up a job as a traditional hawker, a sizeable number of millennials have taken to starting their own hawker stalls.
The food from these stalls however, come with a twist. Nosh from stalls opened by young "hawkerpreneurs" usually feature something out of the norm.
For example, A Noodle Story serves up Singapore-style ramen. The store was set up by millennials Gwern Khoo and Ben Tham, and has grown to be wildly popular.
In February 2013, the duo set up a humble store at the first floor of Amoy Street Food Centre. By 2018, it launched its flagship franchise outlet in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong.
Young entrepreneurs have even managed to modernise the traditional Kopi and toast.
Their menu offers a rather diverse variety of artisanal coffee flavours. The team also develops homemade spreads for their toast in quirky flavours such as black sesame, matcha coconut creme, and taro creme.
Should Singaporeans then expect all our hawker food to be hipster in nature in the future?
Like most products, food also gradually evolves with time.
As Singapore's first-generation hawkers begin to retire, they are likely to take their recipes and concoctions with them.
Furthermore, more young entrepreneurs will enter the long-established trade, and there is bound to be an impact on Singapore's hawker culture.
Expecting Singapore's hawker culture to remain the same 50 years down the road is unrealistic.
However, that does not mean that the hawker food we enjoy today will die out completely.
What we can expect is perhaps a mix of traditional and modern food in hawker centres, much like the rest of Singapore's landscape and culture.

Here the ups, downs and last stands of Mourinho's complete Anfield history.
He was all smiles to begin with.
Mourinho's first visit to Anfield came in an early New Year's Day kick-off, meaning that he was met with a fairly sluggish home side and their fans.
The Liverpool-Chelsea rivalry hadn't yet kicked into gear - the two clubs would play each other six more times in 2005 alone, and 14 more by the end of 2007 - and so Mourinho and Benitez still got on well, chatting cordially in the tunnel pre-match.
Chelsea's Joe Cole grabbed a deflected late winner to keep the Blues on course for the title, and Mourinho was magnanimous post-match.
"The way both teams fought and tried to win the game means I think a draw would be a fair result," he said.
"We knew it would be hard to play our possession football because Liverpool press well - they have a good manager and it was difficult to have control of the game.
"But I think we fought a lot to have this luck."
Speaking of luck.
"It was a goal that came from the moon, from the Anfield stands."
Wherever it came from, the proof that Luis Garcia's effort counted could be seen on the scoreboard as Mourinho raged at the 'ghost goal' that sent Liverpool through to the Champions League final in Istanbul and knocked Premier League champions Chelsea out.
Even in his rage though, Mourinho's respect for Anfield was there.
He said he felt the "magnificent" power of the home fans as they created an atmosphere that both John Terry and Frank Lampard have since admitted is the best they ever played in.
There is no doubt Garcia's goal still rankles though, even now.
Liverpool's unconventional passage into the 2005/06 Champions League as holders, not qualifiers, meant that they were not given 'country protection' status and so could therefore draw English sides straight away, so of course they got Chelsea.
That led to a couple of cagey group stage contests, and when Mourinho said he was happy with an Anfield point you started to get the first sense of the rivalry developing.
"I'm not 100% satisfied but it's a point, so I'm not crazy with happiness but I'm not very sad. A point away is positive," he said.
"Normally the team at home is not happy with a point but I think they are."
Yep, hotting up.
Liverpool didn't even get that point four days later in the Premier League, when goals from Frank Lampard, Damien Duff, Joe Cole and Geremi made Steven Gerrard's equaliser irrelevant.
Mourinho had arrived into the game annoyed at what he saw as a lack of respect for his side, but after recording their eighth win from eight league games he came out swinging.
"We have eight matches and eight victories, with 16 goals, but people say we cannot play, that we are a group of clowns. This is not right," he roared, before rounding on Dutch legend Johan Cruyff after he'd called Chelsea boring.
There was a dig at Liverpool and Benitez in there too, as Mourinho added: "They have to defend or wait for a mistake and a goal. When they play against us face-to-face they can't win."
About that.
Petr Cech was returning for Chelsea after his fractured skull, but he'd been beaten twice inside 17 minutes by a predatory Dirk Kuyt strike and then a brilliant Jermaine Pennant volley.
It was all too quick for Mourinho, who had no excuses.
"I was waiting for 15 or 20 minutes to go by with no goals conceded and the confidence arriving," he said.
"But when the team is very fragile on the pitch and mentally not so self-confident it is difficult."
The loss left Chelsea six points behind Manchester United, a gap they couldn't close.
Daniel Agger's strike had taken the Champions League semi-final to penalties and left Benitez and his staff sitting on the ground until Kuyt fired in the winning kick after two big Pepe Reina saves.
The managerial feud was probably at its height now, and Mourinho was forced to defend the idea that he'd motivated Liverpool by engaging in a slanging match with Benitez.
"I respected Liverpool always in my words," he said. "I don't need to say more and today I think the best team was Chelsea.
"We were the best team today.
